CD (Compact Disc) : An optical disc, the CD is the term used when describing various compact disc formats, ranging from mass-produced discs and audio adta, until recordable versions (CD-R) or rewritable versions (CD-RW). Standard CD can hold about 650MB of data.
CD-R (Compact Disc-Recordable) : A version of the CD where the data can be recorded but can not be deleted. Organic dye-based material used to store data written to it by laser.
CD-ROM (Compact Disc-Read Only Memory) : Development of a compact disc format that allows digital audio computer data can be stored.
CD-ROM drive : Equipment installed on the computer that allows to read and play CDs.
CD-RW (Compact Disc-ReWritable) : Version of the CD where the data can be deleted and direkamakan and recorded in the same physical location on the disc. In CD-RW use phase-changing layer of metal alloy to store data written to it by laser.
Data area : Space on the CD or DVD where there is digital content.
Data layer (lapisan data) : Layers in optical discs that store data as a mark or hole.
Digital : Scheme binary code commonly used in computer technology to represent data as binary bits (1 and 0).
Double-layered DVD : a DVD that has two layers of data, allows for double the storage capacity compared to single layer DVD.
DVD : Stands for Digital Video Disc or Digital Versatile Disc, now commonly called DVD. Advanced generation of optical disc storage technology after the CD. DVD, physical size and shape similar to a CD, but has a higher density and gives the option of data can be stored double-sided or double-layered in the disc.
DVD-Audio : The format of audio-only storage is similar to CD-Audio. That distinguishes it, offering 16, 20 and 24-bit samples at a sapling rate ranged up to 44.1 adri 192 KHz. While the CD is only 16 bit and 44.1 KHz. DVD-Audio disc can also contain music, video, graphics and other information.
DVD-RAM (DVD-Random Access Memory) : a rewritable DVD. Cartridge-based, or newer cartridge-less optical disc for data recording and playback. Data can be deleted direkamkan and up to 100,000 times, making the DVD-RAM as a virtual ddisk har. DVD RAM uses phase change data layer for data from the laser merekamkan. DVD-ROM drives and DVD-Video players today can not read DVD-RAM.
DVD-ROM (Read Only Memory) :Usually an optical disc used to store data, audio and video. DVD-ROMs run on DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, or DVD-RAM drives, not the ettapi DVD-Video players connected to televisis and home theaters.
DVD-RW (often regarded as the DVD minus RW, DVD-ReWritable) : DVD-RW is similar to DVD-RAM, a different technology which he uses read-write access like a phonograph sequentially, unlike hard drives. The capacity to read and he wrote as many as 4.7 GB, and can be rewritten up to 1000 times. DVD-RW is compatible with most DVD-Video players and DVD-ROM drive.
DVD + RW (DVD plus RW), (DVD-ReWritable) :For recording all types of content, for audio recording and editing videio, and for recording random adta. Compatible with most DVD-Video players and DVD-ROM drive.
