Iconia Tab A500
It seems Acer did not play in the fight in the tablet business to consumer. This company has been marketing the Acer tablet Iconia Tab A500 10 inch with Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Well apparently Acer will add Iconia Tab M500 tablet-based MeeGo to enter the market later this year. While Android Acer tablet Iconia A500 powered by NVIDIA Tegra chip 1 GHz 2 dual core processors, the upcoming M500 tablet will use Intel Atom Moorestown (Z-series). The rest of the hardware specification is very similar. Both tablets have the same 10-inch screen, a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and displays the same design with the color silver / gray body and black border around the screen. Acer does not provide detailed specifications in advance.
The main difference is that Acer Iconia M500 will be one of the first consumer tablet of the big PC makers to market with a tablet version of MeeGo Linux. MeeGo is a project supported by Intel and Nokia. We have seen MeeGo appear on the laptop a few times, and Asus is ready to launch one of the first mainstream netbook with this OS in the summer. But the tablet is still relatively new UI.
